Smallpeice Trust

These courses offer students the opportunity to work on real life 'design and make' projects with engineers from industry. There are different courses for different age groups and the courses include lecture and exercises to improve communication skills etc. From Marine Technology to Robotics, Smallpeice Trust courses are as exciting as they are varied, and they all offer young, aspiring engineers the chance to connect with industry professionals and technical specialists.
Based at some of the country's leading universities and other secure venues across the country, courses are available to young people in school years 9 -12.
This isn't stuffy, dull classroom work - in fact, many students tell us how intriguing, inspiring and surprising they found their event.
Residential programs begin at Year 9 with Engineering Experience and Marine Technology courses. These are designed for students who are considering their GCSE options. We offer a continuum of courses, year on year, up to Year 12. During the courses, students will have access to material and equipment that may not be available in school, giving them a unique opportunity to build on their existing knowledge of engineering and technology.
As well as providing residential courses, we also run in-school STEM sessions. These involve visiting schools for short introductory sessions for Year 8 and 9 students with a particular interest in, or aptitude for, problem-solving, design, manufacturing or engineering.
