Greenpower Goblins in Portsmouth

GOOD NEWS FOR TECHNOLOGY IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS!

Thanks to funding from SEEDA last year, Greenpower Goblins are alive and racing in Portsmouth for the second year. The schools are all keeping the kits they were issued with last year, and Greenpower are managing the schools side of things this year, but INTECH acting as a STEMPOINT will still be managing the SEAs side of things, finding mentors for the teams and marshalls for the day. Plans are to hold the final on Saturday 14th March 2009 with the venue still to be confirmed, as we have the possibility of a new exciting venue.

Contact Emma Tyler of Greenpower, emma@greenpower.co.uk for more information.

Greenpower Goblins in Portsmouth 2007–8

This year’s competition was considered a great success.

The race day was very well organised and despite the cold and the rain everyone had a fantastic day.

Pupil participation and involvement was brilliant, as was the support provided by the Science and Engineering Ambassadors.

With each school taking an average 40 - 60 hours on the project it is fantastic that most of the schools who took part this year will be taking part again.

SEEDA’s sponsorship enabled the event to take place this year but we do need funding to run next year’s event.
