Activity.... Do - Think - Learn
A camera is a machine that records images. A simple camera consists of a box with a lens at one end and a light sensitive screen at the other.
If a friend sits facing the camera, what will you see on the screen?
Draw an outline of what you see on the paper.
What do you notice about the image?
How does a photographic camera work?

The Science Bit
In its simplest form a camera is a lightproof box, at one end is an opening where light is let in and the other end is a device to hold a film.
Modern cameras have a lens in front of the opening that admits light, this is so clearer and sharper pictures can be taken with less light.
All cameras have a viewing system, in simple cameras it is a view finder. This is a simple lens system where by light from an object will pass through a view finder to the eye of the person using the camera. The light will travel through another lens to be captured onto the film.
