The Science Bit
Pythagoras’ theorem states that for a right angled triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of other two sides. It is part of mathematics called trigonometry. Trigonometry is used by astronomers, engineers, architects and navigators when difficult distances and heights need to be calculated.
